The Artist

The painter and sculptor Stefan Schwaighofer composes steel plastics built up from geometrical basic forms and calls them Volumina.

This name originates from the Russian avant-garde artist Malewitsch, whose famous "Black Square" became an icon of the modern art.

In his view each body has not only form, but also content (volume), a kind of aesthetic message.

This definition meets the character of three-dimensional objects, since it includes the emotional aspect of the artist and the viewer.

Stefan Schwaighofer lives and works in Scheffau south of Salzburg/Austria.
